Clicky Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-17
This policy is intended to be published at a public URL and linked from the Chrome Web Store dashboard before release.
What Clicky does
Clicky is a push-to-talk browser assistant. When you explicitly use Clicky on a page, it can inspect the current tab, answer aloud, and point to relevant interactive elements.
What data Clicky handles
Clicky may handle the following data when you explicitly invoke the assistant:
- A screenshot of the visible portion of the current tab
- The current page URL and page title
- A compact list of visible interactive elements and their labels
- Microphone audio while recording
- Transcripts derived from that audio
- Short conversation history stored in Chrome session storage
- User settings stored in Chrome sync storage
Clicky does not continuously scrape pages in the background. It only captures page and voice data when the user explicitly invokes its push-to-talk workflow.
How the data is used
Clicky uses this data only to provide its single purpose:
- understand the current page
- answer the user's spoken question
- point to relevant elements on the page
- play the response back with the selected voice option
Stored settings are used to remember the user's preferences. Short conversation history is used only to preserve limited conversational context inside the current browser session.
Where the data may be sent
Depending on the features the user enables, Clicky may send data to:
- the user-configured Cloudflare Worker endpoint
- Anthropic, to generate page-aware assistant responses
- Mistral, to transcribe microphone audio
- ElevenLabs, for text-to-speech when voice responses are enabled with the default voice engine
- browser or operating-system speech services, only if the user switches Clicky to the system voice engine or explicitly enables Web Speech fallback
Data sharing
Clicky does not sell user data.
Clicky does not use user data for advertising, credit scoring, or data brokerage.
Clicky only transfers user data when necessary to provide the assistant workflow described above, comply with law, or protect against abuse.
Retention
- Chrome sync storage keeps user settings until the user changes or removes them.
- Chrome session storage keeps short conversation history for the active browser session and clears it when the session ends.
- Requests sent to third-party providers are handled under those providers' own retention and security policies.
Security
Clicky is designed to send remote requests over HTTPS or WSS.
API keys are intended to stay on the user-configured Cloudflare Worker, not inside the extension package.
User controls
Users can:
- disable the on-page buddy
- disable voice responses
- keep Web Speech fallback turned off
- clear conversation memory from the popup
- uninstall the extension at any time
